Ingredients
For Chole
2 cups of chickpeas (pre-soaked overnight)
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 tomatoes (grounded)
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt as per requirement
For bhatura
2 cups of flour
1/2 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Salt as per requirement
Oil for frying
How to Prepare Chole Bhatura
Preparation of Chole
Cook the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker till they become soft.
Preparation of Chole Masala
Heat some oil in a pan, throw in cumin seeds, and roast them until golden brown. Add onions and sauté until it turns golden. Add the ground tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, and garam masala and allow it to cook until the oil separates.
Add Chickpeas
Stir in the softened chickpeas and mix them well with the masalas and allow it to boil for another ten minutes.
Bhatura Dough Preparation
Mix all-purpose flour, yogurt, baking soda, salt and make dough.
Deep-Fry the Bhatura
Make balls out of the prepared dough and fry in hot oil till puffed up and golden in color.
