Ingredients
For Chole
- 2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
For Bhatura
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
How to Make Chole Bhatura
- Cook the Chickpeas
Pressure cook soaked chickpeas until soft. - Prepare the Chole Curry
Heat oil, add cumin seeds, onions, and sauté until golden. - Add Tomatoes and Spices
Add tomato puree, turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. Cook until oil separates. - Add Chickpeas
Mix cooked chickpeas with the masala and simmer for 10 minutes. - Prepare the Dough
Mix flour, yogurt, baking powder, and salt. Knead into a soft dough and rest for 30 minutes. - Fry the Bhatura
Roll the dough into circles and deep fry until puffed and golden. - Serve
