Vada pav is considered to be one of the most delicious types of Indian street foods. It is also considered to be king of all Indian street foods in Mumbai. Vada pav consists of spicy potato balls enclosed in a soft bread bun. Vada pav is cheap, tasty, and very delicious, which makes it popular snack amongst millions of people.
First Impressions
Vada pav looked very appetizing. Firstly, I was attracted by the softness of pav bread. Besides the bread, vada pav had a golden fried potato ball and two types of chutney. Green and garlic chutney were also accompanied by a fried green chili.
The smell of freshly fried potatoes with spicy chutney made my mouth water.
Taste and Texture
The first bite tasted absolutely awesome. Outside part of the potato ball had a crispy texture while inside part was soft and spiced with mashed potatoes. Softness of the pav bread perfectly compensated spiciness of the filling.
Garlic chutney added extra spiciness, while green chutney provided a refreshing taste.
Ingredients and Preparation Method
The main ingredient of vada pav is spiced potato ball. Spices like mustard seed, turmeric, garlic, and green chilies are used to make potatoes. Potato mixture is coated in gram flour batter and deep-fried until golden.
Then, prepared vada is put inside a soft pav bread with chutneys.

This dish is special due to its simplicity and strong tastes. Although it may sound unusual, but vada pav is not only delicious but also quite easy and quick in preparation.
